SYSTEM GUIDE

Four fly screen systems for windows and doors

Every opening needs the right solution. We assess how the window or door opens, the space available for guides or a cassette, its dimensions and how often it is used before recommending a system.

01 · VERTICAL

Roller screens

COMPACT AND CONVENIENT

The mesh lifts vertically and is protected inside a cassette when not in use. It is a practical choice for opening a window, airing the room and retracting the screen again in one smooth movement.

  • Simple vertical operation
  • Mesh protected when retracted
  • Frame finishes available to complement the window
  • Suitable for many casement and tilt-and-turn windows
Recommended for: bedrooms, kitchens, bathrooms and other frequently opened windows.

02 · SIDE OPENING

Pleated screens

FREQUENT ACCESS

The pleated mesh folds neatly to the side. Depending on the width of the opening, we install a single side-opening screen or a two-panel configuration for easier access.

  • Low threshold for comfortable access
  • Side retraction designed for everyday use
  • Ideal for balcony and terrace doors
  • Compact fold when open
Recommended for: terrace doors, porches, balcony doors and wide openings used regularly.

03 · SLIDING

Sliding screens

SIMPLE AND REMOVABLE

The framed screen moves horizontally along a compatible track on a sliding window. It does not intrude into the room and can be removed for cleaning.

  • Installation adapted to the available track
  • Removable frame for easy mesh cleaning
  • Practical solution for sliding window systems
  • Moves parallel to the window panels
Recommended for: aluminium or PVC sliding windows with a suitable track for the framed screen.

04 · REMOVABLE OR PERMANENT

ANVIS removable and fixed screens

TWO CONFIGURATIONS

ANVIS is an independent made-to-measure frame secured by small rotating clips fitted to the fly screen frame itself. It can be removed inwards when the mesh needs cleaning. The fixed version remains permanently installed on openings that do not require access.

  • ANVIS system removable from indoors
  • Rotating clips integrated into the ANVIS frame
  • Fixed version for non-access openings
  • Dimensions and finish matched to the window
Recommended for: casement windows where the screen should be removable from indoors, and openings that need permanent protection.

SURVEY BEFORE MANUFACTURE

How we make a genuinely bespoke fly screen

A professional survey prevents rubbing, gaps and awkward operation. We check every detail of the opening before selecting the model and manufacturing the screen.

1

We identify the window or door type

We determine whether it is a casement, tilt-and-turn or sliding window, a balcony door or a large-format door.

2

We measure the usable space

We record the dimensions and check cassettes, tracks, shutters, handles and anything else that could interfere.

3

We consider everyday use

For an access door we prioritise a comfortable threshold; for a window we focus on easy operation and neat retraction.

4

We coordinate the finish

We choose a frame that complements the window and remains discreet from both inside and outside.

FLY SCREEN FAQs

Clear answers before you choose

These are the questions we are most often asked before surveying and installing fly screens in homes across Málaga, Marbella and the Costa del Sol.

Which fly screen is best for a terrace door?

A pleated fly screen is usually the most convenient option for a balcony or terrace door. It folds to the side, has a low threshold and is available with one or two panels.

Can a fly screen be fitted to any sliding window?

It depends on the window profile and the available track. Where a suitable track exists, we fit a sliding frame; otherwise, we survey the opening and recommend a compatible alternative.

Why should a fly screen be made to measure?

Because even a few millimetres can affect closing and movement. Accurate surveying lets us adjust the frame, guides and travel to minimise gaps and ensure smooth operation.

How should the mesh and frames be cleaned?

Gently remove loose dust, then clean the mesh and frames with water and mild soap. Avoid solvents, abrasive pads and high-pressure water.

Where does Venta-Sol install fly screens?

We survey and install in Málaga, Marbella, Mijas, Fuengirola, Benalmádena, Estepona and other locations across the Costa del Sol.
